A 26-year-old man has appeared in court accused of harassment and threats to kill,.

Brandon Watson, of Milbourne Street, Carlisle, faces a total of four charges. One charge alleges he harassed a man for almost three months, from 1 January until 20 March this year. On each occasion, it is alleged Watson made threats to hit the man, and kill him.

A second charge, linked to offences on 17 September 2025, alleges racially aggravated provocation of violence against a woman based on her membership, or presumed membership, of a particular racial group

Watson, who appeared at Carlisle Crown Court via videolink, entered no pleas to the four charges, and a trial date was fixed for 2 January 2027.

The two further charges arise out of an incident at a city takeaway restaurant on 25 January this year.

One charge alleges he caused a man grievous bodily harm with intent; and an alternative, lesser, charge alleges he inflicted grievous bodily harm without intent.

Judge Nicholas Barker ordered Watson to attend a crown court hearing on 6 July; in the meantime, he remains remanded in custody.
