Appeal to locate van driver after death of cyclist

Police investigating the death of a cyclist found at the side of a road have launched an appeal to trace the driver of a van they want to question.

Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called at about 10:35 BST on 11 August after a report of a cyclist being found off his bike at the side of the road into Broadwoodwidger, Devon.

A local man in his 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene despite resuscitation efforts, the force said.

Officers said they were keen to identify the driver of a white van, which they have released a picture of, as it was believed that they may have witnessed the cyclist's movements prior to him coming off his bike.

The force has also appealed for anyone with footage of the van in the area at the time to also come forward.
