Call for photos documenting 'everyday moments'
Westmorland and Furness CouncilPeople are being asked to submit their photographs for a storytelling project documenting "everyday moments".
The Together Through the Lens project is asking people living and working in Cumbria to send in pictures that would become part of an online and in-person gallery.
Rod Ireland from Westmorland and Furness Council, who is leading the project, said they hoped to create a snapshot of the area in 2026.
"It's not a photography competition, it's not about taking the best pictures, it's about sharing what living in Westmorland and Furness means to different people and the stories behind them," he said.
Ireland told Radio Cumbria: "It might be your favourite local view, it could be a family tradition that you've got or a community event, or something that means something to you."
People living, working or studying in the area are invited to take part.
Submissions are open until 1 November, and the online gallery is expected to go up later that month.
Westmorland and Furness CouncilIreland said there were "many different people and places" within Westmorland and Furness.
"We've got a very rural area, but then we've got towns like Barrow, so people don't always see what's going on in other parts of the area, or what other people do," he said.
"It's literally sharing what your everyday life's about and letting other people see that and enjoy that."
Westmorland and Furness CouncilThe project is funded by the Westmorland and Furness community safety partnership.
