Lachlan was "naturally funny" with a "cheeky charm", says his sister

The sister of a 13-year-old boy has paid tribute to her "kind and selfless" brother who died after a car collided with his scooter in Grimsby.

The boy, who Humberside Police named as Lachlan, was taken to hospital but died on Friday evening. Two men have been arrested.

Lachlan was crossing Fairmont Road on a self-propelled scooter at about 18:00 GMT on 24 March when the collision with a white Seat happened.

His sister and guardian said: "Lachlan's smile was truly infectious, lighting up any room he entered. It wasn't just his mouth that smiled – his eyes sparkled with joy and warmth."

She added: "He made everyone around him feel happy with his naturally funny, cheeky charm.

"In keeping with the kind and selfless person he was, Lachlan was an organ donor, and even now he continues to help others.

"I am going to be lost without my sidekick and I'm incredibly lucky to have had him in my life. Fly high, my Hot Chochlan."

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
