Elections are being held across Sussex at county and district level

Polling stations across the county have opened for the 2026 local elections.

Voters are choosing 120 councillors to represent them on Sussex's two county councils.

There are also partial elections for the district and borough councils in Adur, Worthing, Crawley and Hastings. Brighton & Hove City Council is not voting this time.

People can cast their votes from 07:00 until 22:00 BST. The results are due to be announced throughout the afternoon on Friday.

It is the first time in five years that voters have had their say on the county councils, after elections due to be held last year were postponed.

We will be bringing you full coverage of results from across the South East throughout Friday.
