Forty firefighters battle woodland blaze

Firefighters are battling a woodland blaze affecting approximately a 20,000 sq m (7722 sq mile) area of land.

Crews were alerted at about 09:00 BST on Monday to the site in Shootash, Hampshire.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue said about forty firefighters are in attendance "working across difficult terrain".

It said off-road vehicles, water carriers and command units had been dispatched and asked people to you avoid the area to allow access for fire service vehicles.
