A British Army unit has been given the freedom of a Berkshire town to recognise its strong presence in the community.

67 Military Intelligence Company, based at Denison Barracks in Hermitage, was given the freedom of Thatcham by its town council in an event livestreamed online on Thursday.

It was accompanied during the ceremony by the Band of the Coldstream Guards and Thatcham's branch of the Royal British Legion.

The company was established in April 2022 as part of the UK's wider military intelligence network and attends the town's annual remembrance service in November.
