Firefighters are tackling a wildfire in Surrey, which has spread across 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres).

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called to Upper Halliford Road, in Shepperton, at 14:40 BST following reports of a blaze.

The fire service urged people to avoid the area and recommended that those living nearby should close doors and windows.

Several fire and rescue vehicles are at the scene, including fire engines and specialist wildfire vehicles, it said.
