Police said concerns for the hillwalker were raised on 10 August

A hillwalker has died while on a mountain in Wester Ross, police have confirmed.

Police said concerns were raised for the man on Monday 10 August and his body was recovered from the An Teallach area.

Dundonnell and Police Scotland mountain rescue teams were called to the incident.

An Teallach is a mountain group south of Dundonnell, in the north west Highlands, which is popular with walkers and climbers.

Its ridge has two Munros, 3,477ft (1,060m) Sgurr Fiona and 3,484ft (1,062m) Bidein a Ghlas Thuill.
