Live stream captures 'adorable' growth of barn owls

A dedicated barn owl live stream has captured the "adorable" progress of two chicks.

The live stream from Hengistbury Head, which is available for anyone to watch on YouTube, began on 24 February and in recent months has been following the growth of two chicks.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council said the two chicks "were successfully hatched and are currently thriving".

They are now about eight weeks old and "growing well", the council added.

It comes after barn owls overcame a challenging summer in 2025 to breed at a nest box installed in the same location.

The council said, despite a challenging year due to dry weather conditions, the pair "beat the odds to successfully raise a single chick".
