Four young men have been charged in connection with a knife fight in an Edinburgh supermarket car park.

Armed officers were called to the incident at Asda in The Jewel area on 25 February following reports youths were brandishing weapons at each other.

There were no reports of any injuries, but two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, were later charged with assault to endangerment of life, breach of the peace and weapons offences.

Police Scotland said four others, aged 15, 18, 19 and 20, had also now been arrested in connection with assault, possession of weapons and breach of the peace. They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at a later date.

Footage of the incident was shared widely online afterwards.

Police previously said they were treating it as a "targeted attack".

Ch Insp Alison Macdonald thanked the local community for their assistance during the investigation.

She added: "This type of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

"Officers are committed to tackling crime and antisocial behaviour in the local community."
