Man denies fatally stabbing Airbnb host
Met PoliceA man accused of stabbing a woman to death within hours of arriving in the UK and renting a central London room from her via Airbnb has denied murder.
Enzo Bettamio, 18, an international kart racer, was charged with murdering Kamonnan Thiamphanit, 27, also known as Angela, after he was extradited from the United Arab Emirates in April.
The court previously heard the defendant, then aged 16, had allegedly killed Thiamphanit during a period of 24 hours in the UK in 2024.
Appearing at the Old Bailey on Friday, Bettamio, of no fixed address, spoke only to confirm his identity and deny the charge of murder.
The court previously heard that Bettamio had booked a room at Thiamphanit's property in Stanhope Place, near Marble Arch, for a month through the Airbnb app.
Thiamphanit's body was discovered at her home on 8 April 2024. A post-mortem examination found she had died from multiple sharp force injuries.
Bettamio was remanded into custody and is due to face trial on 1 February 2027.
