Regular sailings between the island and Larne began in April

Sailings between the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland have been brought forward by 24 hours due to incoming blustery conditions.

The Manannan had been scheduled to travel between Douglas and Larne on Wednesday, but set sail at 06:30 BST on Tuesday instead, with its return voyage also moved by a day.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said the adverse weather forecast for strong winds and heavy rain meant the fast craft sailing had to be moved to allow it to take place.

The government-owned ferry firm has also moved Tuesday afternoon's return sailing of the Manxman from Heysham forward by 30 minutes due to tidal issues in the Douglas port.

Dredging in the harbour is set to continue throughout most of May to resolve the current issue of silt build up.
