Police appeal after sexual assault on canal path
BBCPolice are appealing for witnesses after a woman reported being sexually assaulted on a canal path in Wolverhampton on Sunday afternoon.
West Midlands Police said the assault was at around 15:15 BST near Foxs Lane, on a path by the Birmingham canal.
The force is looking to speak to a man who they believe was in the area at the time of the incident. He is described as white, in his mid 30s, about 5ft 6in tall and of slim build, with a dark shaven beard and crooked teeth.
He was wearing a long-sleeved black T-shirt, dark jogging bottoms and black shoes, and was riding a black and red bike which was possibly an e-bike.
The force said investigators were continuing with local inquiries and looking through CCTV from the area, as well as making forensic examinations.
Officers are on regular patrol in the area.
Det Sgt Ian Maduagwu said: "We believe this has been an isolated assault and our investigations are moving at pace to establish exactly who was involved.
"We would urge anyone who can assist to get in contact."
