A man accused of sending hateful messages to a Muslim organisation and the Israeli embassy, as well as threatening messages to an MP's office, will face trial this year.

Nick Daly, 30, of Oxted, Surrey, is alleged to have sent antisemitic communications containing "extreme violence" to the Israeli embassy, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard earlier.

He is also accused of leaving a threat of death or serious harm in messages sent to the chief of staff of Reform UK MP Robert Jenrick, prosecutors said.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the alleged offences took place between 27 January and 7 May.

Eight offences relate to alleged Islamophobic communications to a Muslim organisation, and there is one count of sending antisemitic messages to the Israeli embassy, the CPS said.

He also faces one count of sending communication threatening death or serious harm, one count of possession of an offensive weapon and one count of possession of cannabis.

Daly, who appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday, did not enter any pleas.

District Judge Sam Goozee told him he would be sent to Southwark Crown Court for trial on 8 June and remanded him in custody.
