Three people have been arrested after a motorcycle was rammed by a car in a village in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire Police said the rider was knocked off his bike by a burgundy Audi estate in Bradgate Road, Newtown Linford, in the early hours of Tuesday.

The force said the rider's motorcycle was then stolen.

A 15-year-old, and two men, 21 and 32, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been released on bail pending further inquiries, police added.

The force said the rider was taken to hospital where he continued to receive treatment for injuries described as not life-threatening.

Det Ch Insp Kevin Brown said: "Despite these arrests our investigation remains very much ongoing."

Brown added it was believed there were five men in the vehicle and asked for witnesses to come forward.
