A man has been charged with multiple offences, including the rape of a 14-year-old boy in Portsmouth, according to police.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said it had charged Sadiq Farhad Azad in connection with the alleged rape of a teenager in an alley off London Road on 11 August.

The force said the alleged incident had taken place between 19:00 and 20:00 BST and involved a man not previously known to the child who they had spoken to on a bus.

Azad, 33, has also been charged with allegedly stalking a woman in her 20s over the course of a year, and criminal damage of a car belonging to a family member of the alleged victim, police said.

Azad, who is an Iraqi national and of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday.
