The bus service goes to Rivington in Lancashire on Sundays and bank holidays

An extra seasonal bus service on Sundays and bank holidays to a popular beauty spot has been reinstated.

Lancashire County Council said the 125R service, which links Chorley, Adlington and Rivington, had resumed operating hourly on Sundays and Bank Holidays until 1 November.

The route runs between Chorley Interchange and Rivington Village Hall, with stops in Adlington and a new link to Adlington railway station, allowing passengers to connect easily with rail services.

The council's public transport head Andrew Varley said: "This seasonal service provides a practical way for people to reach Rivington without needing to drive, particularly at busy weekends and bank holidays.

"The addition of a stop at Adlington railway station also makes it easier for passengers to combine bus and rail travel when visiting the area."

The service is operated by Pilkingtonbus, with Lancashire County Council day tickets valid for use on the route, along with the discounted Sunday single fare.
