Police officer charged with sexual offences

A serving police officer has been charged with multiple sexual offences.

Rhiryd Wyn Hughes, 65, of Wootton Hall, Northampton, has been charged with three counts of indecent exposure and one count of misconduct in a public office. The charges relate to incidents between 2018 and 2024.

Wyn Hughes, a sergeant at Northamptonshire Police, had been working in the force's Anti-Social Behaviour team and was suspended from duty in June 2025 following the first report.

He is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
