Man charged over string of arson attacks
Avon and Somerset PoliceA man is in custody after being charged with a string of alleged arson offences, including one that completely destroyed a family home.
The attacks on homes and cars took place in the Fishponds and Stapleton areas of Bristol between April and September last year.
Przemek Trojecki, 19, from Fishponds, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life, six counts of arson and two counts of attempted arson with intent to endanger life.
He is further charged with attempted arson and criminal damage in connection with the slashing of a car's tyres, Avon and Somerset Police said.
The incidents happened on Oldbury Court Road, Everest Road, Small Lane, River View, Perrymans Close and Grove Avenue.
In the Oldbury Court Road attack, a family home was destroyed after flames spread from a car that had been set alight outside the property in the early hours of 30 August.
Three young children were among those asleep when the fire broke out.
Trojecki was remanded into custody at Bristol Magistrates' Court on Friday and will next appear at Bristol Crown Court on 1 July.
He is also charged with possession of a knife in a public place and possession of cannabis when he was detained on 20 May this year.
