Baroness Gislela Stuart has been announced a speaker for a University of Worcester conference on Brexit

A forthcoming Brexit conference, 10 years on from the referendum, is drawing visitors from across the world, the University of Worcester has said.

Former co-chair of the Leave campaign Baroness Gislela Stuart will be joined at the event by Labour Party peer Lord David Blunkett, as well as other speakers on politics and law.

The free two-day conference, held on June 25 and 26 and funded by the Society of Legal Scholars, will explore Brexit's impact on the UK's political landscape and law.

It has been co-organised by Dr Michael Lane, lecturer in law, who said: "We're delighted to bring such authoritative speakers on the topic to Worcester for what will be an incredibly insightful event."

He added: "While the conference is predominantly aimed at an academic audience, we know this topic will be of great interest to people who are interested in politics, law, history, and international relations.

"We've already seen people booking to attend from all over the world."

Also appearing as keynote speakers will be Dr Sylvia de Mars, reader in transnational public law at Newcastle University, Prof Aziz Z Huq, professor of law at the University of Chicago, and Prof Katja Ziegler, professor of international law at the University of Leicester.

Lane said the "diverse" range of speakers, including those from beyond the EU, would provide insights from outside observers.

The conference will also feature a discussion with Tom Kickman and Prof Gavin Phillipson on their forthcoming book, Constitutional Fracture: How Brexit Revealed Deep Fault-Lines in the British Constitution.

Places must be booked in advance.
