Westwood Way in Wigan remains closed after a man died in a crash earlier

A cyclist has died following a crash which has led to a major road closed in both directions.

Westwood Way in Wigan, in Greater Manchester, is closed between the Wigan centre turn-off and Manse Gardens - following the fatal crash which happened at about 22:30 GMT on Thursday 7 May.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed.

GMP are appealing for information and asking for anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the incident to come forward following the death of the man in his 30s.
