'Beautiful young soul' dies after motorcycle crash

The family of a 19-year-old who died after a crash have said the decision of the "beautiful young soul" to donate his organs will help others.

Harry Douglas, 19, from Liverpool, died on Thursday after a collision involving a motorcycle on the East Lancashire Road in St Helens, Merseyside, four days earlier.

His family said he was a "kind hearted lad" who was devoted to his mum, sister and partner, adding "everything he did in life was for their benefit".

They said he had previously spoken about organ donation and his decision would help save and improve the lives of people he had never met.

Merseyside Police said it received a report of a crash involving a Lexmoto motorcycle shortly before 21:00 BST on 6 September.

Douglas, who had been riding the motorcycle, was taken to hospital with multiple injuries.

His family described him as "the best, most generous big brother, son and partner" and said he showed "compassion and care to everyone that he met".

They added: "Harry was a beautiful young soul who loved hard and during his 19 short years blessed everybody around him with his one-of-a-kind personality."

His family said he understood the importance of organ donation and had spoken about it with them previously.

They said: "His wish to help others will save and improve the lives of people he never met, a perfect example of Harry's personality."
