Three people have been arrested in Lurgan by police investigating an attack on a police station in the town in March.

Six weeks ago, two masked men, one armed with a gun, hijacked a delivery driver and told him he would be killed if he did not drive a bomb to a police station.

A 48-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on Wednesday morning under the Terrorism Act.

A 39-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, obstructing police and assisting an offender.

The three suspects were arrested in the Lurgan area, where police say a number of searches remain ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said: "This cowardly and widely condemned attack, which took place on the night of Monday 30 March, put innocent lives at risk.

"I'm keen to offer assurance that we will continue in our efforts to bring those responsible to justice, and would encourage anyone with information to get in touch."

In March, the PSNI said the device had been "crude, but viable improvised explosive device" and that it was "highly likely" dissident republican groups were behind the attack.

Residents of about 100 homes were evacuated at the time of the incident.
