An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting of a man in Sheffield earlier this month, police have confirmed.

A 30-year-old man was seriously injured in the incident on Greasbro Road, Tinsley, at about 23:00 BST on Sunday 5 April.

A 36-year-old man was arrested on 15 April on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and had since been bailed pending further inquiries, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, officers were still appealing for information about the whereabouts of Zak Khalifa, 27, who remained wanted in connection with the incident, the force spokesperson added.

Khalifa was described by police as white, 6ft (1.8m) tall, slim, with dark brown hair and facial hair, with officers adding that he was known to frequent Rotherham and Sheffield.

Anyone who saw Khalifa should not approach him, but should instead call 999, the spokesperson said.

Simon Cartwright, senior investigating officer, said: "I am sure there is someone out there with information that could enable us to secure justice for the victim of this senseless attack."

The injured man had been taken to hospital for treatment and had since been discharged, according to police.
