A man who broke the Guinness World Record for the number of Marvel comic book characters tattoos says he intends to keep going.

Tom Radford, from Hull, set the record with 63 of the superheroes covering most of his body in December, and has recently added three more, including Deadpool and Moon Knight.

The 40-year-old said he had spent more than £18,000 and 350 hours under the needle getting the work done.

His dream of becoming the Guinness World Record holder for the most Marvel comic book characters tattooed on a male body started with a tattoo of Thanos in 2016.

"It was that good a tattoo, and I was never planning to get as many as I got - but because it is that good I thought I could do a villain sleeve here and then once that was up I thought let's get the heroes done as well.

"I thought actually there is a world record for this - cogs started turning in my head thinking I could get that."

The previous record stood at 31, when Radford started his quest to beat it a decade ago.

"I thought I'm just going to blast this out the water now," he said.

Radford, who describes himself as a proud Marvel fan, says he now plans to add Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Wolverine to his body.

"We've been in some compromising positions in the tattoo studio," he said.

Walker said: "I thought I was a fan of Marvel, but meeting Tom I realised I was nowhere near."

He added: "It's always been Tom's baby to get the world record."
