States schools' executive principal set to retire

The head of Guernsey's four states secondary schools is retiring, the government has announced.

Executive principal Liz Coffey would continue in her role until the end of December having led the Secondary School Partnership since its establishment in 2018, the States of Guernsey said.

The partnership coordinates Guernsey's state-ran secondary schools under an executive leadership team while maintaining individual school identities.

The role leads La Mare de Carteret High School, Les Beaucamps High School, St Sampson's High School and Les Varendes High School.

The States said recruitment had started, with the job description searching for someone who could "lead one of the most ambitious and collaborative models of secondary education".

It said the successor would work with the four principals to support school improvements and help "shape the future of secondary education in Guernsey".

The role has a starting salary of between £137,464 and £144,393.
