Five people taken to hospital following house fire

Five people have been taken to hospital after a house fire in an Aberdeenshire town.

The alarm was raised at Ellon's Kingston Gardens shortly before 05:30.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent four appliances and a height vehicle, and said five casualties were treated for smoke inhalation.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said two ambulances and two special operations response teams were sent to the scene, and five people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
