Police hunt suspect after woman seriously assaulted

Police are hunting a suspect accused of a serious attack on a woman that left her needing hospital treatment.

Emergency services were called to an address in Firsdown in Salisbury at about 16:45 BST on Tuesday, Wiltshire Police said.

No arrests have been made, the force said, but "extensive searches" are under way.

Armed police were deployed to the scene, while a police helicopter was also used in the search.

Wiltshire Police said those living in the area were likely to see a heightened police presence over the course of the evening.
