Download lorry driver dies in hospital after crash

The driver of a lorry that was believed to be carrying band equipment to Download festival has died in hospital after a crash, police have said.

Leicestershire Police said officers were called to reports a HGV had hit two stationary vehicles and a house in Walton Hill, Isley Walton, at about 23:20 GMT on Thursday.

The BBC understands the driver - a man in his 60s - did not die as a result of the crash.

No-one else was injured in the incident, which saw the road closed for a number of hours.
