Man arrested on suspicion of rape in city

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after reports a woman was attacked in Worcester on Saturday morning.

West Mercia Police said it was alleged the offence took place in an alleyway on The Tything between 06:00 and 08:30 BST.

The force said the man remained in custody as inquiries continued.

It also said there would be an increased police presence in the area.
