Murder trial dates set after summer solstice death
SuppliedTrial dates have been set for a man accused of murdering another man at a summer solstice event in the Peak District.
Szymon Babynko, 23, appeared at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday charged with the murder of Isaac Clare-Watts, from Nottingham. He is also charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon over an incident in Hady Lane, Chesterfield, last Thursday, Derbyshire Police said.
Babynko, of Commonwealth Way, London - who police said was a Polish national - spoke to confirm his name and was not asked to enter any pleas before being remanded into custody.
He is due to appear at the same court on 25 September with two provisional trial dates of 23 November or 8 March set.
Judge Shaun Smith told Babynko - who appeared via video link - the provisional date of a March trial was "more likely".
A 41-year-old man - arrested on suspicion of murder after Clare-Watts's death - was released on bail last week.
Police have set up a major incident public portal, through which members of the public can send officers information.
