Jersey has had 15 days where temperatures reached 30C (86F) or more so far in 2026.

Jersey Met said this broke the previous record of 11 days exceeding that temperature in 2022.

It added July had been the warmest since records began in 1894 and had also been the sunniest July on record.

The forecaster said the island had its warmest June since records, with 25 June being "the hottest day on record for the island", when the temperature soared to 39.3°C (102.7F).

Excluding 2026, there have been 22 days where temperatures reached 30C in the previous six years combined.

Jersey Met said there were four days in 2025 that reached 30C or more and in 2024 there were none.

Only one day in 2023 reached 30C.
