Fire crews tackle blaze at derelict paper mill
Fubar NewsFire crews have battled a blaze at a derelict mill in Aberdeen overnight.
At its height, six appliances were tackling the fire at the former Stoneywood Paper Mill shortly after 00:30 on Saturday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said two pumps and a height appliance remained on scene at about 08:45 to carry out dampening down work.
An SFRS spokesperson said there were no casualties.
Fubar NewsResidents were told to stay indoors and keep windows and doors shut due to heavy smoke in the area.
The mill - which operated for more than 250 years - collapsed into administration in 2022 with the loss of more than 300 jobs.
The site was previously damaged by a fire in 2024.
Another blaze in March this year led to three boys being reported.
