'Hero' detectorists reunite newly-weds with rings
BBCA pair of metal detectorists have been hailed as "heroes" after helping a newly-married couple find their lost rings on a beach.
Sarah Stone and Logan Mills thought the rings, which were family heirlooms, were "gone forever" after they lost them at Embleton Bay in Northumberland while swimming on their honeymoon.
Asking locals to help led the newly-weds from Oxford to Andy Grant and Lorna Rawlings, a metal-detecting couple from Craster.
Grant, who had gained a reputation for finding rings in the area, and Rawlings found the rings within five minutes of starting their search, Stone said.
Grant said: "One of the things that stood out when Logan phoned me was how distraught he sounded.
"We just said 'we do metal-detecting, we can search for it', and we found it."
Stone said: "We just couldn't believe it. You go through this process of being like 'no we've lost them forever', so when he found them it was just incredible.
"It was so fast, it was amazing.
"It's just nice knowing kindness is still alive and heroes are still out there."
