Air and sea passenger numbers up on last year

More than 158,000 people travelled through Jersey Airport last month, the latest figures from Ports of Jersey show.

It marks a 4.5% rise on July 2025, with Jersey's harbour also seeing a 2% rise in ferry passengers for the same period.

Ports of Jersey said July marked "an important milestone for connectivity" at the airport, with up to six flights a week to France and KLM's Amsterdam service increasing from weekly to daily flights.

Paul Holley, head of connectivity for the authority, said the increase in travel opportunities this summer was "particularly welcome" to help provide more options for islanders and visitors.

Of the harbour figures, he added: "We're pleased to see the positive start to the summer season continue into July with more than 68,000 passengers traveling through the harbour, driven by demand from island residents and visitors alike."

It comes after Visit Jersey said the number of overnight leisure visitors in the year to date up to June had increased by 13% compared to the same period in 2025.

Tricia Warwick, chief executive of Visit Jersey, said it was was a "really positive story" with increased flights and capacity on Jet2 services to the island providing a boost.

The crime series Bergerac was also believed to be a factor.

"From research we've done, people who have seen Bergerac are three times more likely to consider visiting Jersey," Warwick said.
