Who are the candidates in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election?

Candidates are being announced to stand in the Holborn and St Pancras by-election, which is set to take place on 8 October.

The seat became vacant after former prime minister Sir Keir Starmer announced he was standing down to focus on a role in international affairs.

Here are the people standing to become the area's next MP, listed in alphabetical order.

Camden Council leader Sagal Abdi-Wali is standing for the Labour Party.

She has led the local authority since May, having been a councillor for Camden Square since 2022.

Zack Polanski has been leader of the Green Party of England and Wales since September 2025 and a member of the London Assembly since May 2021.

He was the deputy leader of the Greens from 2022 to 2025.
