Police have appealed for information after a man was assaulted in a park in Swadlincote.

Derbyshire Police said the man, in his 20s, was walking in Eureka Park, at the back of Holmes Court, and was approached by a group of several men at about 14:50 BST on Thursday.

The force said he was assaulted and sustained injuries to his back and the side of his face.

Officers have appealed for any witnesses or people with information about what happened to contact the force.
