M8 Eastbound reopens after man dies in bridge fall

A motorway in Glasgow has reopened, following the death of a man who fell onto the carriageway from a bridge.

Police Scotland said the incident happened just before 03:00 on Sunday morning at the M8 Junction 11, near the Cranhill area of the city.

The eastbound carriageway remained closed until Sunday afternoon while police investigated the 29-year-old's death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 02:55 on Sunday 30 August, officers attended the M8 at Cranhill, Glasgow, following a report of a man fallen from a bridge onto the eastbound carriageway.

"The 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene."
