BBC Radio Ulster wins four gold IMRO awards
BBCBBC Radio Ulster has won four gold awards at the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) Awards 2026.
The gold winners included The Stephen Nolan Show in the Interactive Speech category and Stephen McCauley in the Specialist Music Programme category.
Evening Extra also won gold in the News Programme (Full Service) category for reporting of the Soldier F verdict and BBC Radio Foyle's North West Today secured gold in the News Programme (Local/ Regional) category for reporting of the murder of Amy Doherty.
BBC Radio Ulster also won four silver and two bronze awards at the event in County Kilkenny in the Republic of Ireland.
The silver award winners were:
- Saturday With John Toal in the Magazine Programme category
- Richard Morgan in the News Broadcaster of the Year category
- Assume Nothing: The Radiation Holiday in the Documentary category
- Nathan Edgar in the Gay Byrne Award - Newcomer of the Year category
The bronze award winners were:
- BBC Radio Ulster in the Station of The Year category
- BBC Gaeilge's Blas Ceoil in the Craoltóireacht le Gaeilge category for coverage of Oireachtas na Samhna i mBéal Feirste

Emma Dunseith, Head of Content Production, BBC Northern Ireland, said: "Our teams are passionate about their work and the difference that it makes.

Damien Magee, Interim Head of News, BBC Northern Ireland, said the awards "recognise the value, impact and quality of the BBC's journalism and the talent of the teams involved".
