'One of a kind' dad killed in collision

The family of a man who died in a two-vehicle collision in a rural village said he was "one of a kind".

Suffolk Police said Desmond Mowles, 47, from Helmingham, Suffolk, died at the scene of the incident on Helmingham Road, Otley, on 14 August at 04:30 BST.

Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and the East Anglian Air Ambulance attended the scene.

A statement from the Mowles family released through the police said he was "a much loved son, brother, dad, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend".

"He was one of a kind," they said.

"He could make you laugh, drive you mad, and somehow always be there when you needed him the most.

"He loved his music, his raves, dancing, his pit bikes, but most of all his children and his family."

Police said the collision involved a white Ford Transit van and the VW Polo that Mowles was driving, and officers have appealed for information.
