A woman punched a child in the head four times after throwing a drink bottle at her, police say.

Gloucestershire Constabulary said a 15-year-old was sitting in Kings Square in Gloucester as she saw two women, who had just left The Regal pub with a man, filming themselves on a phone.

The force said one of the women told the girl to stop looking at them, before throwing a hard, plastic ball containing a drink at her face. She then walked off and returned a few minutes later to grab the teenager by the hair and punch her, police said.

Officers have now released a CCTV image of a woman who they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, which happened at about 14:20 BST on 3 September.

The teenager was not seriously injured but was shaken by the incident, Gloucestershire Constabulary said.

The woman police want to speak to is described as being white, with long dark brown hair, blonde highlights and aged in her mid-twenties.

She was wearing a cropped, black hooded top with "Juicy" on the back, light blue skinny jeans and white trainers, police said.

The force added a man who was with her was pushing a pram.
