Dates announced for Frankfurt Christmas Market - and one big change

The dates have been announced for Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market - with organisers also revealing the layout will be different this year.

The market will run for seven weeks, opening on 5 November to Christmas Eve.

But for 2026, there will no stalls between Nandos and the Apple store on New Street due to ongoing roadworks on Bennetts Hill and Temple Street.

The event is the largest authentic market of its kind outside of Germany or Austria and will feature traditional food and drink stalls including schnitzel, bratwurst, alongside handcrafted gifts, decorations and jewellery.

Birmingham City Council also confirmed the big wheel and ice rink attractions will be back in Centenary Square from 5 November to 3 January.

It will take place in Victoria Square and New Street, between Corporation Street and the Bullring.

Opening hours will be:

• Mondays to Thursdays: 11:00 GMT to 21:00 GMT
• Fridays: 11:00 GMT to 21:30 GMT
• Saturdays: 10:00 GMT to 21:30 GMT

The market will open at 13:00 GMT on Remembrance Sunday, 8 November, as a mark of respect, organisers said.
