Recycling centres to close for repair works
GoogleLeicestershire County Council has said a programme of essential improvement works will be carried out at three recycling and household waste sites over autumn and winter.
It said the Mountsorrel site would close temporarily from 27 October to allow repairs to the concrete base in the bottom yard to be carried out.
The works are designed to ensure the site remains safe to operate in the future. It is due to reopen in early December.
The sites at Kibworth and Melton will also undergo improvement works, with the closure dates yet to be scheduled.
Adam Tilbury, the council's cabinet member for environment and waste, said: "While we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closures, the works are necessary investments."
"I thank residents for their understanding and encourage them to use their nearest alternative site during the works," he added.
The authority said a full list of recycling and household waste sites, along with opening times, could be found on its website.
