A man has died after he was hit by a lorry in west Belfast.

The collision, on the Falls Road, was reported to police shortly after 01:00 BST on Friday.

The emergency services attended but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed between Grosvenor Road and Sevastopol Street for a number of hours while the scene was examined, but it later reopened to traffic.

Police appealed to any witnesses and anyone who has footage which could assist the investigation to contact them.
