Pictures have shown how Colchester's popular leisure pool could look after a £1.4m revamp.

Flume upgrades, a new splash pad and improved changing rooms are all planned when work at Leisure World begins on Monday.

Visitors to the centre had criticised it for being dirty in late 2025.

Martin Goss, the Colchester city councillor responsible for leisure, said it would be future-proofed thanks to the works.

"The investment will help improve the overall experience for customers and ensure the facility remains a fun and welcoming place for families to enjoy," he said.

The pool is due to be relined during the works, which include the installation of new water features.

The attraction, along with its outdoor rapids, is due to reopen in early2027.

Other facilities at Leisure World would remain open as usual in the meantime, the city council said.
