By-election to take place in eastern parish
MANX SCENESVoters will go to the polls to replace two members of an Isle of Man local authority board who stepped down.
Three candidates - James Curtis, James Hewison and Richard Taylor - will contest the Lonan Ward of Garff Commissioners on 21 May, with voting to take place from 08:00 to 20:00 BST.
The by-election in the eastern parish follows the resignations of Tim Kenyon and Stewart Clague in January over Manx Utilities' plans to build a new sewage treatment works at Axnfell plantation.
Garff was one of four authorities to call for nominations for by-elections to fill vacancies, some of which were the result of not enough candidates coming forward at last April's local authority general election.
Two other local authorities have filled vacancies without a contest, while another failed to attract any interest.
In Bride, Nigel Fairclough and Dennis Talbot were elected in a non-contested election, while Hilary Ann Fletcher was the only person to come forward in Jurby, leaving both boards complete.
However, no candidates came forward to fill the two seats available on Ballaugh Commissioners.
