Via Met PoliceA man accused of shooting his 19-year-old girlfriend in the face before fleeing to Spain has appeared at the Old Bailey.
Jamie Duncan, 21, allegedly killed Israa Djeddou in the bedroom of her family home in Barnet, north London, in the early hours of 8 June.
On Tuesday, he appeared in court by video-link from Wormwood Scrubs prison charged with murder and three firearms offences.
Prosecution barrister Kelly Brocklehurst said emergency services had been called shortly after midnight but Djeddou had died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of death was a bullet wound to the face.
Brocklehurst said the defendant and victim had known each other for about three months and been in a relationship for about one month.
Duncan was located in Spain and extradited back to the UK and arrested on 26 August.
Mr Justice Lickley set a plea hearing for 16 November and a provisional three-week trial in June next year.
