Boy airlifted to hospital after bike and bus crash

The incident occurred on Clifton Drive South in St Annes, police said

A 12-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after being seriously injured in a crash involving his bicycle and a bus.

Lancashire Police said the boy was taken to hospital by air ambulance following the incident on Clifton Drive in St Annes on Friday.

A police spokesperson said they were called to the scene by North West Ambulance Service at 07:43 BST.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.The North West Air Ambulance charity have been approached for comment.

A North West Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed that the boy was "airlifted to hospital for further treatment", adding that he was flown to Alder Hey.
