A teenage electric motorcycle rider has been seriously injured in a crash with a van and a car, police have said.

Sussex Police said officers were called to the incident on Burndell Road in Yapton, West Sussex, just before 15:45 BST on Saturday.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries and the driver of a Ford Transit, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries, said the force.

A 50-year-old man driving a Nissan Micra was unhurt, it added.

Police said the car and electric motorcycle had been travelling southbound while the van was headed northbound at the time of the collision.

Other emergency services, including an air ambulance, attended the incident.

Officers have appealed for witnesses and anyone with relevant footage to contact the force.
